Gobind Khiani, P.Eng. M.Eng.
Mr. Gobind N. Khiani, an accomplished subject matter expert, is an alumnus of the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He has nearly 30 years of experience in engineering and project management with operating companies and Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) firms.

His extensive background spans domestic and international projects in isolation, design, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, and asset integrity management. This includes expertise in corrosion control and pipeline integrity for high-pressure, high-temperature, critical, severe, and lethal service applications. His project portfolio covers oil refining, sulfur recovery, heavy oil upgrading, thermal heavy oil production, LNG, petrochemicals, synthetic fuels, nuclear power, mining, GTL, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and materials industries.

Driven by his passion for knowledge-sharing, Mr. Khiani has authored and presented over 200 technical papers in globally recognized publications such as Gas Process Industry, Pumps & Systems, Valve World, Flow Control, Valve Magazine, Chemical Engineering, Hydrocarbon Processing, LNG Magazine, Pipeline World, Uptime, Asset, and Hydrocarbon Engineering. His work has been published across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and he continues to present internationally to advance engineering practices and industry standards.

His expertise in materials engineering, design, and equipment specifications has also led to voluntary contributions to numerous industry standards committees, including ISO, API, CSA, CNS, GPS, SPE, Valve World, and the Schulich School of Engineering.

Mr. Khiani is currently on the Board of Directors for Energy Sustainability Training for Young Engineers and Geoscientists, Canadian Prairie Group of Chartered Engineers, and also serves as Chairman of the End User Group at API 609 and Vice-Chairman of Standards Council of Canada. As the past chair of the CBEC of APEGA, he has showcased his leadership and contributions to professional engineering organizations.
